There are many people who start out in network marketing but they never seem to get anywhere. The failure rate in network marketing, like most new businesses, is very high.
I believe that there are two keys behind any kind of success regardless of whether it is success in network marketing or anything else that you may want to do. Those keys are decision and commitment.
The first step is decision.
Bob Proctor talks about decision. He says that most people don’t make decisions. They just ask other people what they should do. If you want to change your circumstances so that you can reach the success that you desire then you need to make your own decisions.
Don’t get me wrong. I think it is a great idea to ask an expert for advice in their area of expertise. If you have a leaky faucet then a plumber is a good person to get some advice from. You still need to make the decision whether to hire him to fix the leak or do it yourself.
On the other hand, if you have been introduced to network marketing and need to make a decision if it is right for you, then don’t ask your friends or family who have only ever had a regular job. If they have never even had an entrepreneurial thought then they aren’t qualified to advise you on this.
Regardless of any advice you get, the decision has to be yours. You have to decide to start and decide that you will be successful. People will be more than happy to give you their opinions. You have to decide if you are going to live the life they choose for you, or one of your own choosing.
The second step is commitment.
A decision without the commitment to back it up isn’t really a decision at all. It’s like in golf. When you hit the ball you don’t stop your swing when your club makes contact with the ball. You have to follow through. The follow through is your commitment. If your decision isn’t backed up with a good commitment then your ball is going to end up in the rough or out of bounds completely, and you aren’t going to find success there.
When you decide that you are going to start your own business you need to have the commitment to stick with it long enough for it to have a chance to grow. While it is certainly possible to be an overnight success in network marketing, it isn’t very likely. It takes your decision to start and your commitment to learn the business, learn your product, work with your team, and make it happen.
Doing anything worthwhile takes time. It takes nine months to become a parent then it lasts the rest of your life, thirteen years to get a high school diploma, and at least four years to get a bachelor’s degree. Even a chocolate chip cookie takes about 10 minutes in the oven. You have to commit to spending the time that it takes to get what you want.
Do you want to have the time and money freedom that an entrepreneurial life can bring? Then make the decision to find out more about what I do and how to join my team. Then make the commitment to make it a success.
