People like to think that running their own business is hard, that it is a struggle. They say that network marketing is hard because it takes too much time. You have to pester your friends and family to at least buy your product if they won’t join your team. How will you ever have success in network marketing?
You have to struggle to be successful in anything. It’s a requirement, right? You have to struggle to learn the products, build and maintain your team, find customers. Is it really worth all of this effort to build your own business in network marketing?
Of course it is worth it. The struggle is all in your head.
Struggle Is A Perception
It’s true, struggle is only a perception. That’s all. You choose whether what you do is a struggle or an exciting adventure. It’s a choice.
Here’s an analogy for you.
You just bought a new 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle and are going to put it together. You clear off the table and dump all the pieces out into a pile. Now you have two ways to look at this project. It is either an interesting challenge to see the picture unfold or a difficult struggle to find the right piece.
If you choose to see it as a difficult struggle then it takes forever, none of the pieces seem to fit together, and it is a completely miserable experience in the end.
If instead you choose to see it as an interesting challenge, the process goes a lot faster, it seems a whole lot easier, and you have fun.
The point here is that you get to choose how you see it. “Interesting”, “difficult” and “struggle” are all perceptions. They only exist in your mind. You get to choose.
Success in Network Marketing as an Exciting Adventure
Most people who get into network marketing have no experience running a business. The leaders I’ve heard very rarely talk about network marketing as a business because people think that starting a business is hard. Of course that only makes it harder.
Your network marketing business can be a struggle if you want it to be. I prefer to see it as an exciting adventure. That’s really the first step toward your success in network marketing, or any business, choosing a positive outlook.
My Approach
The network marketing company that I chose to work with has many products in several different technology categories. To try to understand everything on day one would be incredibly overwhelming, which does scare some people away.
Instead of trying to understand everything, pick just one product and study it:
- What does it do?
- What are the benefits?
- How does it work?
- Who needs it?
I work exclusively online so I create a blog post from my research. That gives me additional incentive to figure the product out because I turn that work into content that helps me sell the product.
Once you have that product figured out you can choose another one and keep building your knowledge. Before too long you have a lot of product knowledge, and a lot of content on your website to attract traffic.
The important thing to keep in mind with anything new is that you don’t have to know everything to get started. You just have to start. You will learn everything else as you go.
Mindset is Everything
What you think about something affects your experience with it and how well you do.
If you are into the Law of Attraction then you know that if you are see your business as a struggle then that is exactly what you will attract more of. On the other hand, if you see it as opportunities to learn, grow and have fun then you will attract more of that.
If you aren’t a big fan of the Law of Attraction and think it’s just a load of crap to sell books and seminars, well, your mindset still matters. If you choose to see struggle then you won’t have fun, and if you aren’t having fun then you will probably quit sooner rather than later. When you are learning and having fun then you are much more likely to stick with it long enough to achieve success in network marketing.
Success in Network Marketing Is Up to You
Your success in anything is up to you and your mindset. Do you see constant struggle or exciting challenges? They are the same thing painted either good or bad by how you choose to see them.
