Three network marketing secrets to success that I have used to build my network marketing business.You started your network marketing business, so now you’re ready to quit your  job, right? Wrong! Don’t quit your job yet. Network marketing is not a get rich quick scheme. It will take some time to get your business to the point where you can make enough money. So, to help you along your way, let’s look at some network marketing secrets to success.

Last time we talked about the first step, how to choose the right network marketing company to partner with. This time we will talk about the keys to success.

Can you get rich with network marketing? Of course you can. If one person can do something, then it is possible for anyone to repeat it. A better question is, will you get rich with network marketing? And that’s entirely up to you.

Not a Get Rich Quick Scheme

Many people associate success in their business with making a lot of money. That’s really too bad. Money isn’t everything, though you may argue that it’s the means to get everything.

Some network marketers recruit people by letting them think they will make money fast. Aside from the fact that those tactics violate FTC rules on over-stating income, it is very misleading to the new people.

While it is technically possible to make a lot of money fast, it probably isn’t going to happen that way for you. The people who make a lot of money right from the start in network marketing already have their team in place ready to sign up and buy as soon as they do. The work was done in advance.

Network Marketing Secrets to Success

Most network marketers will tell you that the secret to success is  build your list of 100 people and start cold calling. If you have read my posts so far, you already know that I don’t subscribe to that model.

My network marketing secrets to success are much simpler. Actually, they aren’t really secrets (big surprise, right?). I think any serious entrepreneur would agree that they are the keys to success in any business. So, how do you create network marketing success?

Persistence

The first of my network marketing secrets to success is persistence. Network marketing, like any business, is a long-term proposition. It takes time to build.

If you are like most people who get into network marketing, this the first time that you have started your own business. You have a lot to learn, so it is unrealistic to think that you can make money reliably from day one.

Define What Success Means for You

With any long-term project, you need to know what it will look like when it’s done and set milestones so that you can measure your progress and stay on target.

First you have to define what success in this business means for you. It could be monetary – “I make $10,000 every month.” It could be lifestyle – “I work from a different resort beach every month.” My own goal was more like – “I work from home and actively raise my kids.” That meant more to me because most dads spend their days at work and barely know their kids.

Now that you have your long-term goal, come up with a series to shorter-term goals or milestones so that you can see that you’re going in the right direction.

For example, milestones toward my goal of being a stay-at-home dad could be.

  1. Make my first sale – you have to start somewhere.
  2. $1,500 income 3 months in a row – stability.
  3. $3,000 income 3 months in a row – stable growth.
  4. $5,000 income 3 months in a row – I can quit my job.

You can upgrade your goal as often as you want to, but you can never downgrade it or make it more “reasonable” or “realistic.”

Daily action

The second of my network marketing secrets to success is daily action. With your goal and milestones in place, do something every day that moves you closer to your next milestone.

At this point you probably still have your job, so you don’t think you have time to do a lot. You actually do. People like to say that they don’t have time for “X”. What they really mean is that “X” isn’t important enough to make time for.

If you think about it, you can usually make time to do the things you really want to do. If you want to create network marketing success, then this needs to be important enough to make time for. You need to do something in your business every day.

I kept my job after I started my network marketing business, so I had to find time to work on my new business. I eventually chose to build it exclusively online through a website and blog, so I gave up most of my lunch hours to write content for my website and then uploaded it in the evening instead of watch TV.

It will take some sacrifices, especially in the beginning, but it will be worth it in the end.

Belief

The final one of my network marketing secrets to success is belief. You have to believe in what you are doing and in your ability to do it.

It amazes me how many people start something but they don’t believe in their ability to succeed at it. If you don’t believe that you can do it, then why even try? It’s like saying that you’re going to go to the store, then you slash your tires before you get in the car. You aren’t going far.

Create an affirmation or success statement that clearly states what you want to accomplish in your business. You already have your goal written down, so this should be easy. Write it in the present tense and make it something that you can believe. You don’t want that little voice in your head to append “yeah, right!” at the end of your statement.

“My network marketing business earns me an extra $5,000 every month.”

“I have quit my job and am happily working from home.”

“I work on my network marketing business from a different resort beach every month.”

As you build your belief in network marketing, and your ability to do it, you can make your statements bigger and bolder.

Can You Get Rich With Network Marketing?

Of course you can, if that’s what you want, and you want to bad enough to put in the time and effort, and follow these network marketing secrets to success.

There is no guarantee that you will make any money in network marketing. Most people don’t, and I believe that is because they don’t do the things that I said in this post.
