Welcome to my Nikken team newsletter for July 2012.
I am so glad that it is now July and that June is over. Several people that I talked to had a slow month in June. Those of us working online were also hit by some changes that Google made to their search ranking algorithm. That all looks like it is behind us now and business is picking back up again.
The big news items this month are the
- New magnetic products coming in August
- Changes to the Nikken compensation plan
- Bojabie tool coming for our team
Our Nikken Teammates
Before we get into those things though, I want to officially welcome Robert to the team. Robert lives in Saint Peters, MO and is working on getting his blog going in his spare moments between softball tournaments. Welcome Robert.
We also lost someone from the Nikken family last month. Anthony Bove passed away. Anthony was the inventor and manufacturer of many of Nikken’s magnetic items. More importantly, he was a man who cared very much about helping people and was always very touched when he heard people’s testimonials about his products. I was fortunate enough to hear him speak twice. He was a very smart man and had a great vision for what we could become as people, and he developed his products to help us on that path. Anthony will be missed.
New Magnetic Products Coming Soon (August?)
Nikken and Anthony Bove made the business decision to part ways last summer and a lot of Nikken’s new magnetic products in the past year have been launched because of that. As the agreement periods came to a close, Nikken has had new products to replace the expiring ones (except for the Elastomag wraps).
That continues in August with the new Kenko PowerSleep Mask, KenkoSeat II and the MagDuo.
The first two are pretty much self explanatory as to what they are. The MagDuo is a replacement for the Magboy. The Magboy is a Nikken icon, so the MagDuo has some big shoes to fill.
The old sleep mask sold out a couple months ago, so people have been waiting for the new one. I’m sure the current KenkoSeat and the Magboy will be discontinued when the one items are launched.
I wrote a blog post on my product website talking about the new items. Please read more about the PowerSleep Mask, KenkoSeat II, and MagDuo there.
Nikken Compensation Plan Changes
I have always thought that Nikken’s compensation plan was great. It rewards the people who actively build their business. That’s the way it should be, right? Now it rewards those people even quicker.
In short, they changed the PGV requirements for Executive from 5,000 to 4,000 so new people can reach Executive rank faster.
They have removed the Bronze rank altogether.
The big change is that they reduced the PGV requirement for Silver from 20,000 over 3 consecutive months down to 12,000 PGV over 3 consecutive calendar months.
That is absolutely huge. I wrote more about it on a blog post yesterday. Learn more about the new Nikken compensation plan changes here.
What is Bojabie?
I was introduced to Bojabie at the end of last month. Bojabie is a social networking tool for a closed group of people. Reid Nelson and Dennis Estes have been working with the developers of Bojabie to make some enhancements to support their vision for their teams to collaborate and work together more, and for them to be able to offer training specifically for their teams.
What I like about Bojabie is that it will offer us the ability to work together online better. Most importantly for us, we will be able to share our desktops. We will be able to show each other what we are doing and I will be able to easily walk people through setting up their blogs. I used to do this with GoToMeeting but Bojabie will be half the price.
I probably won’t use the rest of the social tools because I prefer Facebook and Twitter to make them public. A “private” conversation in public has a better chance of attracting curious onlookers who might like to join our team. That is why our team’s newsletter appears as a regular blog post on this website.
My Silver Challenge
I started the Silver Challenge back in May and it has gotten a slow start. The nice thing about a slow start is that it is a start. We have something to work with.
What is the Silver Challenge? Read more about the Silver Challenge here.
You don’t have to know how to play, you just have to want to play. I’m here to show you how and help along the way. Bojabie will make that easier.
Email or call me to let me know that you are in, include your Facebook url so that I can “friend” you and send you an invitation to the Facebook group.
That’s it for this month. As always, feel free to call or email me any time that you have a question.

PS. I created a Facebook page for my Nikken business. I would appreciate it if you would take a moment to “Like” it.
